Meet LAIPA founder, Anita.

Helping clients and their families navigate and manage the healthcare system and their mindset after a diagnosis. Empowering individuals to rediscover their authentic selves, break through limiting beliefs, and create a life aligned with their true purpose.

My story

For nearly two decades, I worked as a paramedic, standing alongside people during some of life’s most difficult moments—navigating crises, and profound challenges.

I had a front-row seat to the remarkable resilience of the human spirit, but I also witnessed the deep isolation and overwhelm that permeate our healthcare system and our communities.

It wasn’t just my patients’ struggles I witnessed. Life brought me my own moments of profound challenge. I became the primary caregiver for my mother as she faced her three year battle with ALS—Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. ALS is a relentless disease that slowly paralyzes the body, breaking down the ability to walk, talk, eat, and, eventually, breathe. Caring for her demanded everything I had—managing her care, making critical decisions without guidance, and navigating my own self care. I compartmentalized the chaos to be fully present for her, but after she passed, I was left with a tidal wave of grief so immense it took years to process.

Three years later, life called me to step into the caregiver role once again. My father was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. I became his primary caregiver, guiding him through his final five months before he died.

These experiences left me with a profound understanding of what it means to carry the weight of life’s most difficult transitions. Whether it was my patients, caregivers, families, or even my fellow healthcare professionals, I began to see the same struggle everywhere—people overwhelmed, disconnected, and carrying uncertainty they didn’t know how to hold. I saw how easily the emotional burden could overshadow the core of who we are and what truly matters.

LAIPA Mission

COVID-19 pandemic: Paramedic burnout

The pressures I faced as a healthcare professional reached unimaginable heights during the COVID-19 pandemic. The burnout I experienced was no longer just exhaustion—it was moral distress. I found myself in situations where I knew the best course of action for my patients, yet systemic constraints held me back. Pushing through wasn’t sustainable—not for me, not for my colleagues, and not for the patients and families we were doing our best to care for.

Amid this crisis, something within me shifted. I realized that the way forward couldn’t be found in simply “pushing through.” Instead, I turned inward. I committed to deep, transformational work—confronting the grief, the exhaustion, and the limiting beliefs that had weighed me down. I clarified what I truly wanted: to create meaningful change, to reconnect to my purpose, and to offer the kind of support I knew the world desperately needed.

From my experiences as a caregiver, my 18 years as a paramedic, and my humanitarian work, LAIPA was born.

LAIPA

In Latvian, "Laipa" means "footbridge over water," a fitting symbol of the journey I guide clients through—crossing from struggle to clarity.

This bridge represents the support, connection, and transformation at the core of my work, while my tagline, "Remember Who You Are," complements the bridge metaphor by reminding you of your inner strength and authenticity.

With LAIPA, I offer intuitive insight, compassionate support, and a strategic approach to help clients face life’s transitions courageously, reclaiming their purpose and living more fulfilling, empowered lives.
